People make the difference

Right now, Brisbane is in the midst of the Brisbane Pride Festival. Events are happening all over our Sunshine City. However the biggest day on the calendar is Fair Day, September 16. It’s the ultimate Fun Day in the Sun.

It will kick off with Brisbane’s first ever Parade (not a rally), starting at the Wickham Hotel and then it’s fun and games at the finish in Perry Park. It’s the day I’ve been waiting for and I’m super-excited. You can bet you’ll see pride flags, outrageous costumes and lots of hunky men.

There’s fun for the family, too.  Bring your kids and enjoy a day with your favourite gay people. A party zone is planned for the party animals, where you will find bars, music and, yep, sexy bodies!

None of this would happen without the volunteers, who are really the champions of the day. They are the ones who plan for weeks, work their butts off and clean up after the party. Without them, Brisbane’s Fair Day would not happen. Although we know they enjoy the fun of being involved and reap rewards for helping their community, we really do appreciate their input. Go, Volunteers!

This is community at its best, and anyone with a pulse can volunteer. So if you want to make friends, meet the love of your life or just give for giving’s sake, then register here to volunteer and be part of Brisbane’s best all-inclusive event.

We’ll see you at the Fair!
