Gay Aussie Youth To Have An Afternoon out

People always surprise me. Sometimes it’s the things they say, sometimes it’s the things they do. However, I love the people who give just for the sake of giving. Not expecting anything in return. Leonie is just such a person. She is your everyday ordinary gal. She builds websites for a living and she is up to stuff. The kind of stuff that makes people say, “That’s a good idea,” but do nothing about.

Leonie and I get real in this light hearted video. Sorry for the singing.

Leonie is the powerhouse behind the screening of a free movie for all gay youngsters aged 16-25. The movie is ‘The Doctor’s Wife‘, an award-winning story about the adventures of a young gay couple in rural Queensland. Leonie is good buddies with the film’s producer, Jonathan Duffy, who is The Doctor’s Wife himself. Jonathan was thrilled when he recently took ‘The Doctor’s Wife’ to the Canadian International Film Festival and won an Award of Excellence 2012.

Leonie says she wants gay youngsters to meet in a friendly, supportive environment and have a good time. She has also invited health practitioners to be there after the movie to answer any questions they may have.

There’s going to be a feast to keep food lovers like myself happy, afternoon tea and free secret gift bags that Leonie is keeping tight-lipped about.

While the event is free, you should register due to limited seating. So, don’t waste time, book here right now. And if you know someone who could really do with new friends, show them where to register here.

Updates can be found on An Afternoon Out’s Facebook event page.
